The Power Plant in my Backyard: Using Storage to Enable VPPs
Tuesday, June 30, 2026 3:00 PM to 3:50 PM · 50 min. (America/Los_Angeles)
Information
Battery Energy Storage Systems can be found throughout the US as they offer a unique ‘value stack’ to residential and C&I building owners. For many applications the improved resilience and the opportunity to minimize exposure to variable electricity rates are enough to justify upfront investment. But, these are not passive assets, and when connected to the grid via VPP programs, they can also provide economic value to the grid as well. This session will investigate how distributed battery systems are accelerating the energy transition as the backbone of successful VPPs pilots, and what additional business opportunities exist.
